Refugee Tales campaign to end indefinite detention

11 September 2018

‘28 Tales for 28 Days’ is a new writers-and-actors-led initiative to raise awareness around the call to end indefinite detention of refugees.

Actors including Jeremy Irons, Christopher Eccleston, Shobu Kapoor, Maxine Peake, Zoe Wanamaker and Niamh Cusack and writers Kamila ShamsiePatience AgbabiNeel Mukherjee and others have been filmed reading the tales of those who have experienced detention and those who have worked with them. All writers and actors have donated their work and the studio space was also donated.

From 11 September, tales will appear online each day for 28 days. The 28th tale will be read in Westminster, taking the tales to parliamentarians who have the power to bring about legislative change and end the injustice of immigration detention. Read the 28 Tales.
