Sean Grundy is a radio dramatist whose work spans comedy, drama and factual storytelling. His writing is often drawn to the strange, the overlooked and the difficult-to-categorise. 

He has written extensively for BBC Radio 4. His work includes Cavity (“glitteringly original” – The Guardian), and Sony-nominated The Recordist. His drama Poorland was praised by Slumdog Millionaire screenwriter Simon Beaufoy as “an amazing, fierce-some piece of work”, while his biopic Far Side of the Moore, about astronomer Sir Patrick Moore, was nominated for the Tinniswood Award. Recent writing includes The Poor Olympics, ReadyPlayerMarx, Rita, Sue & Andrea Too, and the acclaimed BBC Sounds serial How to Burn a Million Quid, about the KLF’s notorious destruction of £1 million. 

He is also an Emmy-winning, BAFTA-nominated director for audio, TV and film. His latest project is tHE iNVISIBLES, a surreal, no-budget comedy musical feature film adapted from his first radio play, Cavity. He is currently touring the film alongside delivering workshops to filmmakers and film students on how they too can write and make their own no-budget movies without waiting for permission, money or conventional resources.
