About Mina Minozzi-Goffin
Mina Minozzi-Goffin is a children’s author and Child Emotion Specialist, and the founder of Selfwise®. She wrote all 42 activities in Phizz-Whizzing Feelings (Puffin, 2026), an emotional intelligence activity book for ages 7–11 created with the Roald Dahl Story Company and illustrated by Sir Quentin Blake. She is also the author of the Selfwise® emotional intelligence Power Series for ages 4–7. Mina is based between Northampton and Cambridge and regularly works in London.
Books
Phizz-Whizzing Feelings (Puffin / Penguin Random House, 2026) helps children aged 7–11 notice, name and work through big feelings, including anger, worry and friendship troubles, through Roald Dahl’s world.
The Selfwise® Power Series (Alf, Bea, Caz and Dia’s Power) is four picture books exploring self-awareness, self-love, empathy and gratitude. The characters include children with limb difference, a port wine stain, autism, and hearing loss, so every child can see themselves as the hero.
Background and expertise
Mina holds an MSc in Child Development from UCL and a BSc in Psychology. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and an Associate Member of its Faculty for Children, Young People and their Families. She also consults for Penguin Random House. Her online practice supports children aged 7–17 and their parents, with a focus on friendships, confidence, anxiety and self-identity. She is trained in performance to LAMDA Grade 8 with Honours, so her sessions are lively, interactive and pitched for children, not lectured at them.
Key areas: emotional literacy, friendships and belonging, confidence and self-esteem, anxiety, difference and inclusion, bereavement, and anti-bullying.
For schools, libraries and festivals
Mina offers:

- Interactive workshops on feelings, friendships and confidence that support PSHE and RSHE and suit Anti-Bullying Week and Children’s Mental Health Week.
- Parent talks for schools and Parents’ Associations, such as “Phase, or the start of something?”, a practical session on friendships, confidence and the child who holds it together at school but falls apart at home.
- Readings and performances at festivals and library events.
Upcoming
Mina is currently consulting with Penguin on a new book for young children about bereavement. She is advising on how the story handles loss so that it is emotionally safe, age-appropriate and helpful for children and the adults reading with them.
