Hi, I’m Kate Watkin, a communications professional and writer with a lifelong love of books and storytelling.

For over sixteen years I’ve worked in government communications on national issues from climate change to violence against women and girls.

As both a reader and writer I love stories that challenge our assumptions, encourage empathy and help us see the world through someone else’s eyes.

I have my first picture book, inspired by my daughter’s experience of ADHD – and me learning to understand my brain through hers – will be published November 2026. It’s called My Brain Is Like a Disco and it is being published with Lemon Jelly Press.

I have also completed my first novel Blame – it’s upmarket/book club fiction looking at issues around toxic masculinity, consent and parental blindspots.
