Thirty three years policing in UK and Hong Kong led to a further twelve years international law enforcement assistance on behalf of the UK FCDO and the UN on missions to the Middle East, Far East, Indian and Pacific Ocean states, before taking up pro bono investigation into missing and unidentified cold cases for the UK charity Locate International. Editing and publishing my late father’s WWII Merchant Navy illustrated memoir, ‘Hunter to Hunted, Surviving Hitler’s Wolf Packs’ was the catalyst that had me recount the fifty-year journey of my own career through, ‘Move Along Nothing to See Here, East End to Far East the Dark Side and Beyond’, an illustrated memoir due for publication in Summer 2026. My next project is a collaboration to write a history of Strathclyde Police (1975-2013) and making an attempt at crime fiction from my experiences in criminal investigation, intelligence, counter terrorism and national security work.
