Next month the funds available to Scottish culture will be decided in a settlement between Creative Scotland and the Scottish Government.

The proposals have been made available and each one presents a scenario where significantly less funding and fewer opportunities are available to develop arts and culture in Scotland.

The Advocacy Group of Literature Alliance Scotland is calling on everyone opposed to such a result to write to the government and protest these cuts. Our Chief Executive Nicola Solomon has already written in protest. Read her letter.

We join LAS in asking you to write a letter or an email to your local MSP and/or Cabinet Secretary for Finance Derek Mackay, urging them to protect the culture budget. These messages must be received by Friday 1 December.

Use this template letter to help you draft your message. Then send it to Derek Mackay using the email and postal addresses below, and find your local MSP’s contact details using this page.
