I’m disabled, neurodivergent, working class and northern. All of which influences the work I create.

I’m a children’s author with four middle grade books published by Puffin. With forthcoming books from Macmillan Children’s Books. I visit schools, education settings, libraries etc to provide brilliant and energetic presentations and workshops. I’ve worked with organisations such as the National Literacy Trust, Scottish Book Trust, Southbank Centre and New Writing North. Check out my Contact an Author page for how to work with me in this way.

I’m also an actor and spoken word performer. I’ve performed at the Glasshouse, Southbank Centre and toured nationwide. My trilogy of films commissioned by the Durham Book Festival and New Writing North which I wrote, performed and directed won Performance of the Year from the Journal Awards.

I work as a mentor for new writers and those wanting ongoing support. I do this on an individual basis and for organisations such as Curtis Brown Creatives and Creative Future. I’ve taught on the MA in Creative Writing and MA in Publishing at Northumbria University alongside New Writing North.

I’m a playwright with commissions from Live Theatre, Hexham Book Festival, Novo Theatre and Unfolding Theatre. Work is available in text from from Bloomsbury.

Creative access, joy and welcome are at the heart of everything that I do.
