I am 68, single and retired. I am severely disabled as a result of neuropathy after chemotherapy; whether this is something you need to know I cannot say, but it is now who I am. Professionally I was a Book and Document conservator for many years, and latterly worked in the contracts area of private healthcare companies.
My first degree was in English and Art History at Manchester Polytechnic 1981-84, followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Library Conservation at the Colchester Institute 1984-86. I completed an MPhil in bookbinding history at the University of Wolverhampton in October 2024.
I write historical and literary fiction in the areas of art history and crime. I like to combine historical research and known facts in a fiction setting with strong character development. I often carry characters over from one book to another, in different contexts.
