South Lancashire Group: Workshop with Ian Skillicorn

Join the South Lancashire Group on Thursday 25 June at 1.30pm for a workshop with Ian Skillicorn on selling your books!

We will meet at the Community Room at Wigan Library, Life Centre, The Wiend, Wigan WN1 1NH.

This in-person workshop is aimed at authors who are considering or already independently publishing their work (either new titles or reissuing backlists) as ebooks and print-on-demand, with a focus on selling via Amazon.

The session will cover crucial points including:

• Maximising your Amazon product page (keywords, blurb and cover)
• Researching your competition
• Online advertising (Amazon ads, Facebook and X)
• Off-line advertising
• Email marketing
• Getting reviews
• When using AI can help

There will be a chance to ask questions after the presentation.

Ian’s publishing imprint, Wyndham Books, has published many bestsellers in the US, UK and Australia, with total sales approaching one million copies. He rediscovered and republished the family saga Hardacre by C L Skelton, now broadcast on television as The Hardacres around the world, and on Channel 5 in the UK. Ian’s work has been featured in the press, most recently in the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Express. He is a frequent speaker at writing groups and conferences, including for the Society of Authors, the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, and the Romantic Novelists’ Association. He is a member of the Society of Authors, the Translators’ Association and the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
