About Me: Waldorf Educator & Author
Hello! I’m Pankaj Sulodia, and I wear two hats that I absolutely adore:
one as a dedicated Steiner-Waldorf educator and the other as an author of children’s books.
My passion lies in nurturing young minds through creative storytelling and a child-centred approach to learning. With many years of experience in Waldorf education, I bring a unique perspective to my writing, always aiming to foster empathy, respect and a profound connection to the wonderful world around us.

My Journey in Education
My professional journey began in the vibrant heart of New Delhi. This led me to extensive experience as a Steiner-Waldorf teacher. I completed my Steiner-Waldorf Teacher Training in 2007 from LWTTS, London, and since then, I’ve had the joy of teaching various age groups, including a significant and rewarding period at Ringwood Waldorf School. My expertise truly lies in crafting engaging learning experiences that cultivate children’s social-emotional development, encourage independent research skills, and build their capacity for thoughtful reflection.
I’m deeply committed to creating environments where children can explore, question, and grow into thoughtful, compassionate individuals.

My Authorial Voice & Published Works
For me, writing is a natural extension of my teaching philosophy. I aim to inspire curiosity and understanding in young readers and draw heavily from my classroom experiences and the rich tapestry of human history and culture.
I love creating stories that resonate deeply and encourage children to look at the world with wonder. Here are some of the books I’ve had the pleasure of bringing to life:

Stories of Country Life: This collection holds a very special place in my heart because these short stories were originally written for my own class. They explore different aspects of country life through the eyes of a character named William Smith, offering gentle lessons and a connection to nature that I believe is so important for children today.

Modjadji: The Rain Queen from South Africa: This was a truly collaborative project, and I loved exploring cultural narratives through this story. It’s a book that promotes understanding and celebrates the rich diversity of our world, something I feel strongly about sharing with young readers.

War, Refuge and Hope: In this book, I wanted to address significant themes with sensitivity and insight, helping children to understand complex emotions and situations while still offering a message of resilience and hope. It’s a challenging but ultimately uplifting story.

Hum of the Mountain of Ladakh: Another wonderful collaborative project, this book allowed me to delve into unique cultural landscapes and share the beauty and wisdom found in different parts of our world. It’s about opening children’s minds to new places and ways of life.

CONNECTIONS: (Published 5 April 2026, Illustrated by Nicholas Cox) This is my latest book, and I’m so excited about it! It tells the story of a young girl who is initially horrified to find herself without Wi-Fi during a weekend at her aunt’s countryside cottage. But as the days unfold, something truly unexpected happens. Through a strange dream, the wisdom of her aunt, and the gentle pull of the forest, Isla is reminded of everything she has perhaps forgotten. It’s a poignant narrative about what it means to be human in our increasingly digital world, and I hope it encourages children to find their own connections beyond the screen.

As a proud member of The Society of Authors, I am deeply committed to the craft of writing and its incredible power to educate, inspire, and uplift young hearts and minds.

My Vision
My overarching goal is to continue contributing meaningful literature that supports both children and educators within the Waldorf movement and beyond. I truly believe in fostering a lifelong love for learning and helping children develop a deeper sense of humanity and their place in the world.
