I studied creative writing in the 1970s and had travel features published in various county magazines before life’s mundane needs became urgent. Diversion into the NHS lasted longer than planned and when I hit sixty, I decided it was ‘now or never’ to write my stories. In May 2025, I fled the NHS and finished my first two novels. I live in Surrey, but have enjoyed a somewhat nomadic existence around England and Wales over the years.
I have published two books; my contemporary women’s fiction novel ‘Nina Gander Duck or Panda’ and ‘Slate Heart’, my historical fiction novel set in 19th century Wales, plus a prequel novella ‘Flora Dove’ (the latter is available from my website). I am currently working on Slate Heart’s sequel, due out in November 2026.
