I am a former City lawyer. Born and raised in Portsmouth on the south coast, I now live in Surrey with her family.

Once a highly ranked British junior tennis player and a member of the British National Junior Squad, I toured the women’s professional satellite circuit as a teenager, and achieved a world ranking of 650. After returning to full-time education, I gained three As in A-Level History, English Literature and Theology, a BA Honours 2:1 in History at University College London, and a commendation in both the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the London College of Law.

I trained as a solicitor at City firm Norton Rose, before going on to practise as a commercial litigator at two other City firms, Kendall Freeman and Travers Smith. I left law in 2008 to pursue my passion for writing. I also passed the NCTJ fast-track newspaper journalism course in 2010, in respect of which I was awarded The Oxford University Press Public Affairs Award for the most outstanding public affairs central government paper.

THE SCRIBE and THE ABDUCTION, featuring intrepid lawyer Maddy Kramer, fiction’s first female lawyer amateur sleuth, were published by Lume Books (formerly Endeavour Media) in July and December 2019. Both books have hit the bestsellers lists in the UK, Australia and Canada, with bestseller tags in Australia and Canada. They were also published as audio books by Isis Audio in January and March 2021, read by David Thorpe. They were re-published as THE LAWYER and THE PARTNER by Lume Books, a Joffe Books company in October 2024 and February 2025 respectively.

I also contributed a short story, The Encounter, to LUME Books’ crime anthology Given in Evidence published in May 2020 and a short story entitled The Trap to Criminal Pursuits, an anthology of crime stories published in October 2001, and have written many articles and short stories for The Crime Writers’ Association.

In February 2021, I signed a two-book contract for two standalone psychological thrillers with HERA BOOKS, the first entitled SHE’S MINE was published in August 2021 in e-book and paperback. THE LOYAL FRIEND was published by Hera Books in June 2022 in paperback and e-book and on 26th June in audio with Saga Egmont.

In June 2022 I signed with Hera Books for three more psychological thrillers. The first of these – THE FINAL PARTY – was published in e-book and paperback in May 2023, and in audio by Isis Audio in February 2024, and achieved bestseller tags in the UK, Australia and Canada, as well as being featured in Woman’s Own and Bella magazines. Italian and Spanish rights for THE FINAL PARTY have recently been sold to Newton Compton Editori, with publication in both territories set for some time in 2026.

My fourth psychological thriller- UNDER HER ROOF – was published on 13th June 2024 in e-book and paperback by Hera Books and in audio by Isis Audio, and was featured in Woman’s Weekly, Woman and That’s Life magazines.

My fifth psychological thriller – THE SCHOOL GATES – was published on 5th June 2025 in e-book and paperback by Hera Books and in audio by DK Books.

She’s Mine was made the LJ Ross Book Club April book of the month in 2022 and was listed in various bloggers’ top reads of 2021, as well as achieving numerous bestseller tags in the UK, Australia and Canada in June 2023.  It has reached No. 2 on Top Paid Crime and Thrillers behind CL Taylor and two spots ahead of Richard Osman on the Apple Books charts. It has also reached No. 4 on Top Books (paid) on Apple Books, ahead of Colleen Hoover.

The Loyal Friend was also listed in various bloggers’ top reads for 2022, achieved bestseller tags in the UK, Australia and Canada and is now available to buy in US stores, published with Canelo US in June 2023.

I have been on panels at Capital Crime 2022 and Newcastle Noir 2022, and The Dark Side of Brighton in February 2023, Crimefest 2023. Crime Central and Capital Crime 2023. I also hosted an on-line masterclass on Psychological Thrillers at Bloody Scotland 2023 and have given many talks at various libraries around the country.

I hosted an author dinner at Harrogate 2023 and appeared on the Psycho Thrillers panel at Harrogate 2024 with T.M. Logan, C.M. Ewan, Abigail Dean and Luca Veste. I also appeared at Bloody Scotland 2024 alongside B.A. Paris, C.M. Ewan and Tariq Ashkanani, and hosted an author dinner at Harrogate 2025. More recently, I appeared on the Deadly Women panel at Chiltern Kills hosted by Tina Payne.

Besides being an avid reader, I enjoy fitness, films and watching anything crime/thriller related. I also love to travel, and would have a second home in Italy given the chance!
