South East London Group: Changing genres as a writer

9 December @ 16:00 - 18:00 GMT

Free

Join the South East London Group on Tuesday 9 December from 4pm for our next meet-up led by member Dena Attar, on changing genres as a writer.

Whether it be fiction writers switching to non-fiction and vice versa; from academic writing to personal or memoir; from highly niche to popular; writing for adults or children, we will discuss in depth what it means to make such a change. We will contemplate questions like: What transferable skills and experience are we likely to have already? And what might we need to learn or think about when switching to a different mode?

As usual the format will be: 10-15 minutes talk, followed by discussion, then social time.

We will meet at The Commercial, 212 Railton Road, Herne Hill, SE24 0JT. The pub is directly opposite Herne Hill Station, and close to bus routes 3, 37, 196 and 322. Group organiser Niall Kishtainy has reserved tables at the back of the pub and will be there to meet you.

All members welcome!

Local Groups meetings are run by our wonderful volunteers, who kindly give their time to support their local writing community. As such, please be mindful of limitations on their time and capacity for running the group.
