Tessa Foley’s debut poetry collection Chalet Between Thick Ears, & follow-up collections What Sort of Bird are You? & Try to Find Me are published by Live Canon. Her poems explore dark & bright spaces within childhood, relationships, nature, & politics. Her voice takes in class, gender, & psychological perspectives, threaded together with a wild, playful love of language.

She has performed her poetry across the UK & taught as a tutor of performance poetry & a leader of therapeutic poetry-writing groups. She has recently mentored poets in the early stage of their career and run poetry activities for children and adults at several events. Tessa is currently studying for a PhD at University of Portsmouth.

Tessa won the Live Canon Single Poem Competition in 2013 and has since been recognised in the Verve Poetry Competition, the Ware Poets Open Poetry Competition, the  Canterbury Literary Festival Poet of the Year competition, The Charroux Prize, the Waltham Forest Poetry Competition, The Artemesia Arts Competition & Bournemouth Writing Festival Competition & has been featured in publications such as Agenda, the Fredericksburg Literary and Art Review, Finished Creatures, Alchemy Spoon, Ink, Sweat & Tears, Black Iris, & Crank Mag.
