Surrey Group: Talk with author Lucy Reynolds
13 January 2026 @ 12:00 - 14:00 GMT
Free
Join the Surrey Group on Tuesday 13 January from 12pm to hear from Lucy Reynolds who will be discussing her upcoming book Brothers On The Kinder Train: The incredible true story of two boys’ escape from Hitler
Author Lucy Reynolds is the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, who escaped persecution in Vienna on a Kindertransport train. At the age of only ten, Herbert Heller travelled to England with his little brother, Kurt, leaving behind their imperilled parents and a family they may never see again. Join Lucy as she shares her journey to piece together her grandfather’s story, sharing contents from an incredible archive of documents and letters that survived in hiding through Hitler’s reign of terror. Lucy’s book will be published in January 2028, to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the Kindertransport – a mass scale humanitarian movement that brought 10,000 unaccompanied children to safety.
We’ll meet at The Seahorse, 52-54 The Street, Shalford, Guildford, GU4 8BU.
All writerly and bookish guests welcome!
