Lauren Mooney is a writer from the midlands, now based in East Sussex. Her literary fiction is represented by Veronique Baxter at David Higham Associates and her debut novel Service sold to Manilla, an imprint of Bonnier, in a two-book deal. Service will be published in June 2026.

Lauren also works as half of award-winning Kandinsky Theatre Company, with director James Yeatman, where her credits as a writer and dramaturg include shows at the Royal Court Theatre, Royal Exchange Manchester, Schaubuhne Berlin and Schauspielhaus Vienna. She also holds freelance dramaturgy credits on several critically acclaimed and award-winning productions, including recent and forthcoming work with Paines Plough and the Royal & Derngate Northampton. 

Freelance since 2018, she previously worked for Clean Break Theatre Company and co-edited their monologue collection Rebel Voices (Methuen, 2019). She is a graduate of the University of East Anglia’s Creative Writing (Prose) MA, where she held the David Higham Scholarship, and the Royal Court Writers Group. She also writes audio drama for Big Finish with her husband, Stewart Pringle.
