Rebecca Struthers

Watchmaker and historian
Children's writer, Historian, Non-fiction writer

I’m a watchmaker and historian from Birmingham. I co-founded my workshop, Struthers Watchmakers, in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in 2012. My watchmaker husband, Craig, and I trained as restorers and now use heritage equipment and traditional artisan techniques to craft bespoke watches. We’re among the last handful of watchmakers in the UK making watches from scratch. In 2017, I became the first watchmaker in British history to earn a PhD in horology. I now live in Staffordshire with Craig, our dog Archie, and cats Isla and Alabama.

My first book, Hands of Time, was a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week. My second book, About Time, is out with Dorling Kindersley in August 2025.
