Making Publishing Accessible with Francesca Riccardi – Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses Network Meeting

Join us for our next online meet-up on Thursday 23 October from 2pm.

This month we will be joined by Francesca Riccardi, a Literary Agent at Kate Nash Literary Agency. Francesca is going to talk to us about what can be adapted and adjusted in the publishing process to make it more accessible to disabled authors.

Please note this is not a pitching event, the discussion will be focused on publishing in general. You can ask questions specific to your situation but Francesca may only be able to give general advice.

Francesca has over fifteen years of experience in the publishing industry, starting at RNIB where she transcribed books into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted readers. She has since worked in sales and marketing roles at publishers Canelo, Atlantic Books, Constable & Robinson and HarperCollins, before becoming a literary agent in 2023. She represents commercial and upmarket adult fiction across genres.

Francesca was born and raised in Peterborough and lived in Leeds and in London before moving to Southend-on-Sea, Essex, where she lives with her partner and their two rescue dogs.

About the Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses Network 

The Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses network is a member-led peer support network aims to break feelings of isolation by connecting authors facing common experiences, in an online community that offers continuing professional and personal support.

We run monthly get-togethers using Zoom, where you can chat informally online with others. Depending on your computer or device, you can take part either using audio or video. Please let us know if you have any specific needs that will help you take part.
