I’ve been writing since I was old enough to hold a crayon! First book submitted when I was 11. It was too short but I received encouraging words. So books were always on the cards but despite ideas for novels, they’ve been non-fiction so far. Life has been quite tough but colourful! I liken it to a kaleidoscope of fragmented pieces, some colourful, some black and grey. Through the years they have created a myriad of different patterns, finally now blending to form a rainbow arc.
Book #1 2004. ‘How to do Life: Powerful Pointers for Powerful Living’ was created in response to client requests for a book. So it combined, my then, 30 years experience as a psychotherapist, corporate consultant, and specialist in stress management and emotional intelligence. It’s been described as reader-friendly, down-to-earth, and a handbook for life!
Book #2 was commissioned after responding to a colleagues author call to write a guest guide to the ceremonies of different faiths. Having been ordained as an Interfaith Minister in July 2006, it was heaven sent, and when published in 2010 by Kuperard Bravo, it was titled ’Do I Kneel or Do I Bow?: What you need to Know When Attending Religious Occasions’.
#Book 3 has just been completed and is for women 55+. It has 79 stand-alone vignettes with helpful tips and a few personal anecdotes. Title etc still being decided. It will be self-published by the end of 2025.
#Book 4 which is already started, will be a legacy, teaching memoir. As with all of my writing, it’s designed to be helpful to others based around, ‘Here’s what happened, this is what I did, this is where I am now’.
#Book 5 could be an anthology of poems that I started writing when I was 16.
#Book 6 and onwards will be whatever springs into my head and inspires me to write. Lots of ideas pending….
