I’m Beena. I’ve spent a good deal of my working life in journalism, and more recently switched to copywriting (holidays and supplements – not at the same time). 

I’m a debut novelist, represented by C&W and my first novel, Is This What You Call Love? is out in 2027 (published by Harper Collins UK and Akan Books)  It’s a literary novel set in a market town in West Yorkshire around the shards that form family fracture. 

I was longlisted for Discoveries @Women’s Prize 2025, and won Jerrico Writer’s Jessica George Bursary.
