France Group: How to Self-Publish Professionally

With the evolution of self-publishing, standards are rising! Join the France Group on Wednesday 25 June from 8pm (CET) to hear from author Alison Morton on tips to up your game and be a successful self/indie publisher.

Alison writes award-winning thrillers featuring tough but compassionate heroines. She lives in Poitou in France, the home of Mélisende, the heroine of her latest three contemporary thrillers, Double Identity, Double Pursuit and Double Stakes. 

Her eleven-book Roma Nova thriller series is set in an imaginary European country where a remnant of the ancient Roman Empire has survived into the 21st century and is ruled by women who face conspiracy, revolution and heartache but with a sharp line in dialogue. She has also contributed to several short story collections with historical themes.

Six years’ military service, a fascination with Ancient Rome and a life of reading crime, historical and thriller fiction have inspired her writing. On the way, she collected a BA in modern languages and an MA in history. She belongs to the International Thriller Writers, Historical Novel Society, Society of Authors, Crime Writers’ Association. Alison gives talks/workshops/panels on writing, thriller writing, self-publishing, alternative and historical fiction at international writers’ and genre conferences, tutorial groups and associations. 

She has also written articles for Writing Magazine, appeared on local radio and has written a column on writing and publishing for The Deux-Sèvres Monthly, the local English language magazine since 2012.
