Professional Development – It’s all in the detail: negotiating publishing contracts
9 July @ 12:00 - 13:30 BST

Almost all contracts are negotiable. Every author can and should feel able to seek changes that reflect their priorities for the deal. No reputable publisher, agent or company minds a polite request – and if you don’t ask you don’t get! But if you struggle to pin down what matters most or if you find negotiating uncomfortable, you’re not alone.
Join SoA’s Deputy Chief Executive Sarah Burton and Contracts Advisor, Sarah Baxter for this session where we’ll discuss common contractual pitfalls, negotiation tactics and tips, and empower you to ask for a better deal.
