The Poetry Café

Members and Associates of the SoA will be given free membership of The Poetry Society’s Poetry Café at 22 Betterton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9BU.  

Mention that you are a Member/Associate of the Society of Authors and you will be given a card making you a member of the café. Members of the café are able to order alcohol during daytime opening hours and have access to discounted tickets for some events held there.   

Please note that membership of the café is not the same as membership of The Poetry Society and discounted hire fees for the café basement are only available to Poetry Society members. 

Professional Writers Academy

Professional Writing Academy has been designing and delivering world-class online writing courses since 2009. They offer Members and Associates of the Society of Authors a 10% discount on some of their advanced courses.

Royal Over-Seas League

This club in central London offers members of the Society of Authors a 25% joining fee discount.

Royal Society of Literature

The Royal Society of Literature has been nurturing, celebrating and defending all that is best in British literature, past and present, since 1820. 

Members of the SoA are entitled to a 20% discount when joining the RSL. To take

Union Club

The Union is a members’ Club located in the heart of Soho. It has provided a setting for dining, drinking, meeting, mingling, working, weddings & events since 1993. The club offers an introductory discount for members of the SoA. 

SoA members can join the Union at a discounted rate with a waived joining fee.
