I was born and raised in South Wales, before leaving home to begin a career in the Royal Air Force at age 17.
I subsequently spent 10-years in the RAF, which was followed by a 23-year career as a police officer in both England and Wales.
Alongside my professional career, I have also been a volunteer with many charitable organisations at many levels, from senior leadership, to working on the frontline. This resulted in the award of an MBE for services to charity in 2019.
Since retiring from the police in 2020, I now work as a wellbeing trainer for a national military charity, as well as working as a professional speaker & enrichment lecturer throughout the UK and abroad, in addition to occasional commissions as a certified funeral celebrant.
Aside from the above paths, since 2019 I have been the host and content creator of a YouTube channel called ‘The Chap’s Guide’, which focuses on the self-development, personal improvement and overall well-being for men of all ages in the modern world.
To date, I have written and produced around 850 original long form videos on a variety of subjects, that have been viewed well in excess of 10 million times by viewers from virtually every country in the world.
