I am a Professor Emerita in Psychosocial and Cultural Studies at Bournemouth University and a Visiting Professor in the College of Heath and Social Sciences at the University of the West of England.   I am an interdisciplinary scholar and apply  a psychosocial approach to culture, politics and society and have published extensively in that field, including two monographs, four edited books and numerous journal special editions.

I sit on the Executive Boards of the Association for Psychosocial Studies, am a Founding Scholar of the British Psychoanalytic Council and an Academic Research Associate at the Freud Museum.  I am a Joint-Editor of the Routledge book series Psychoanalysis and Popular Culture, a Contributing Editor on the journals Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society, and The Journal of Psychosocial Studies.

I am an experienced Editor and Mentor for both experienced and new  authors, students and trainees.
