Society of Authors in Scotland Online Social and Committee Q&A

Join the Society of Authors in Scotland (SoAiS) for a social online event on Tuesday 18 February from 7pm. This event is an opportunity for you to chat informally with members of the present SoAiS committee about our work and how you can take part.

The SoAiS has three vacancies on its committee. We are keen to encourage applications from across the different voices of our wonderfully diverse nation to ensure meaningful representation for all of Scotland’s authors, translators, and illustrators. There are exciting times ahead as we work with colleagues across the SoA and in Scotland, campaigning both within and outwith our union for improved conditions for our members, such as better freelancer pay and fairer contract terms.

As we look ahead to the run-up to the Scottish elections in 2026, we remain committed to advocating for our members needs and priorities. We are also working to improve how we engage with our members, both locally and nationally, to ensure their voices are heard and represented.
