Award-winning writer for leading mainstream outlets such as the BBC, The Times, Guardian and Daily Telegraph, plus specialist titles ranging from World of Interiors to New Scientist.
As a non-fiction book author, my most recent book is 111 Places in Hastings & Rye That You Shouldn’t Miss (published 2026, and part of a global best-selling travel guide series). This follows my 2024 book in the series – 111 Places in Chichester and West Sussex That You Shouldn’t Miss – which was shortlisted for Travel Book of the Year at the Inspire Global Media Awards 2025.
I also co-wrote the 2015 book Plants: From Roots To Riches (basis of a series on BBC Radio 4), and wrote all the chapter texts accompanying the pictures for the 2012 photography book London: The Panoramas.
In creative writing, I’m part of the cohort for Penguin/Random House novelists scheme WriteNow for writers from under-represented communities, and have had professional cast readings for my last three plays. A production featuring my short plays was shortlisted for an award at the 2015 Brighton Festival, and a recent short was performed in 2025 at Brighton’s New Venture Theatre. I’ve been shortlisted/Highly Commended in several poetry competitions in the last two years, including shortlisting for the 2024 Disabled Poets Prize pamphlet category and 2025 Creative Future Award.
