Roy Claire Potter (they/them) is an artist writer who performs. Their first novel, The Wastes, is published by Book Works in June 2024. They are the author of short collections of experimental fiction published by small presses, Round That Way (Ma Bibliothèque, 2016) and Mental Furniture (2014, Very Small Kitchen).

As an artist, Roy’s works of live performance, published text, recorded audio and installations of drawing and sculpture have been presented internationally. They are represented by A plus A gallery, Venice.

As an academic, Roy writes on performative pedagogy and is a Senior Lecturer of Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University where they lead MA Fine Art and research artists’ writing, spoken performance, and disability access in the arts.
