Alison Littlewood’s latest novel is UNTIL WE DROWN, written as Ava Morwood. A contemporary thriller, it was inspired by her fascination with mermaid lore in the landlocked Peak District, combined with elements of Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Little Mermaid’.

Alison’s first book, A COLD SEASON, was selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club and described as ‘perfect reading for a dark winter’s night.’ Other titles include PATH OF NEEDLES, THE UNQUIET HOUSE, THE HIDDEN PEOPLE and THE CROW GARDEN. THE COTTINGLEY CUCKOO and THE OTHER LIVES OF MISS EMILY WHITE were written under the pen name A. J. Elwood.

Alison’s short stories have been picked for many Best Of anthologies and published in A CURIOUS CARTOGRAPHY, THE FLOWERING, QUIETER PATHS and FIVE FEATHERED TALES. She won the 2014 Shirley Jackson Award for Short Fiction.
