About Me

I love to spread the joy of reading, writing and drawing through my books and workshops. I created the ‘I Can Draw’ series of step-by-step drawing books featuring characters based on simple shapes, published by Quarto. I’ve written several fun and topical picture book texts, and a diary style chapter book with a strong female Muslim central character with a very big imagination.

Books

I Can Draw series – Walter Foster Junior (Quarto)

I wrote and illustrated this series of 10 step-by-step drawing books with various themes, such as wild animals, pets, dinosaurs and fairytales. The English language versions are selling internationally and there are several co-editions.

Workshops

I run popular comics and illustration workshops for schools, SEND settings and other organisations in London and beyond, including ACS International Schools, Discover Children’s Story Centre and the Sharjah International Book Fair. Please see my website for more details.

Other Work

My early career was in fashion design and I’m now a Creative Engagement Librarian, involved with partnerships, projects, events and promotion of the library service.
