Gareth L. Powell is an award-winning British science fiction novelist, who also writes horror under the name G.L. Powell. He has written more than twenty novels, novellas, and collections, many of which have won or been shortlisted for awards.

Gareth has twice won the British Science Fiction Association Award for Best Novel and has been a finalist for the Locus, Seiun, British Fantasy, Canopus, Premio Italia, and Premios Ignotus awards.

In 2022, Gollancz published his book About Writing, a comprehensive field guide for aspiring authors. He is a popular and entertaining guest for podcasts, writing workshops, and literary events, and he is represented in all professional matters by his literary agent, Lucienne Diver at The Knight Agency.
