A third of SoA members now have a group in their area, as more members have set up new local groups over the past year.
‘Our recently formed group has already become an important part of my life: it’s a great feeling to be in the company of people who understand the joys and challenges of being a professional writer.’
– Linda Buckley-Archer, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells Group
What happens at a local group?
Our local groups are run by members for members. They are a chance to connect with local members through informal socials, topic-lead talks, workshops and more. Share your knowledge and advice with fellow authors and support one another.
With regular local events happening online and in person, now is great time to get involved in a group near you.
‘Our local group is turning into a strong community of writers, generous and supportive of each other, offering a place where members feel really ‘heard’.’
– Celia Rees, Warwickshire Group
