How to sell your writing in interviews – with Anna Caig

Communications expert Anna Caig delivers this session on interview skills for authors, with a focus on the online opportunities that have become ‘the new normal’ in recent months.

Broadcast live on 19 May 2020 as part of the SoA @ Home Festival. Presented by Francesca Howell.

Anna Caig has worked in communications for 17 years, specialising in media relations, corporate reputation management and strategic marketing campaigns. She has trained media spokespeople to deliver information in the most challenging and high pressure situations.

Anna now works with traditional, indie and self-published writers, as well as helping creatives in any discipline find a wider audience. Many writers see their work and the marketing of their work as two separate things, but Anna’s approach – described by one writer as ‘how to promote your books with heart and creativity’ – explores how personal branding and marketing can work hand in hand with the inspiration behind the writing process.

Anna tutors on the MA Journalism course at The University of Sheffield and is the former Head of Communications at Sheffield City Council. She writes crime and historical fiction, and reviews books for the Sheffield Telegraph and on her blog, Murder Underground Broke The Camel’s Back.
