IMPORTANT: 24 Bedford Row is still a building site and we do not at present have a suitable area to receive visitors. For your own safety, please wait until we announce the opening of our ground floor members’ area before visiting us in person.

From 18 March to early April we will be relocating to our new premises in Bloomsbury. This will cause some disruption to our services, so we appreciate your patience while we set up our new working space.

We’ll try to keep things running as smoothly as possible while we make the transition. You can still join online, email and tweet us. Please note that from Thursday 21 March until Tuesday 26 March most of our staff will not be available to respond to your queries via telephone. Our telephone number will remain unchanged (020 7373 6642).

If you are posting anything to us after the 20 March, please send this to our new Bedford Row address below:

We’ve put together some FAQs below if you are getting in touch with us during this time.

I am a member, and I have a query. What should I do?

The best and quickest way to get advice is to email us. We will aim to get back to you within 10 working days. But please note that from Thursday 21 March until Tuesday 26 March we will not be able to respond to your query via telephone, unless urgent. This is because most of our staff will not be available to answer the relevant query during the relocation.

I would like to send you a query or contract; to whom should I address it and what should I include in the email?

As usual, email info@societyofauthors.org with your question and any supporting papers. There is no need to address a specific person, but remember to quote your SoA ID number in the email and include as much context as you can (e.g. some information on the kind of work you do; the project this contract is for; your existing relationship with the other party, etc.). Our advisory team will aim to get back to you within 10 working days.

If I email you, when will you deal with my query?

Our frontline team will pass on your email to the advisors, who will endeavour to respond within 10 working days.

When will the new premises be open to members?

Our new office will be open for events and to members from the summer. Watch this space for updates on the opening of the member space and how to book visits and events.

Once again, thank you for your patience during this process.
