UK PLR (Public Lending Right) have announced the launch of their new website, aimed at making it easier for users to keep in touch. You can now find them at www.bl.uk/plr.

Users can still access their online account through the new PLR homepage, and all the usual pages regarding eligibility, registration and advice have been carried over. The pages can also be accessed from the British Library homepage by clicking ‘Join’.

We recommend authors register their books for PLR, and now that ebooks are to be eligible it’s important to remember to register those too.

Additional features include first-hand video accounts about the importance of signing up for PLR from authors Tracy Chevalier, S.F Said and Alexis Deacon, as well as a case study with audio-book narrator Jeff Harding, who has registered over 700 audio titles since the extension of UK PLR to non-print material was first introduced. The PLR team will be constantly updating our content with helpful information, articles and newsletters.

For any questions, suggestions, feedback or comments, please email headofplr@bl.uk.
