The deadline to sign up for UK and Irish Public Lending Right – the service which pays authors when public libraries lend their books – is Thursday 30 June.

I’ve been getting a nice little earner from PLR UK for a few years now. Always very welcome!

PLR is the system by which the government makes payments to authors whose books are borrowed from public libraries. Payments are made annually to writers, illustrators, translators and other contributors.

You must register your books to qualify for payment.

Online applications must be submitted by midnight on Thursday 30 June 2016 to be included in the year end calculations. Postal applications must also be received by no later than Thursday 30 June 2016.

You can apply to register your published titles online or via an application form. Alternatively you can contact PLR to request a form by post.
