We are delighted that the SoA is represented in the Debrett’s 500 2015 by our Chief Executive. TheDebrett’s 500 is a positive endorsement and recognition of Britain’s most influential people. TheTimes called Nicola Solomon ‘an important voice in protecting authors’ rights’. Nicola says:

I’m delighted to be included on behalf of the SoA. The nomination shows that the concerted efforts by our staff, Management Committee, President, Council and numerous individual members to draw attention to the need for fairer terms for authors are making an impact. We are also thrilled to see so many other SoA members in the list over a number of categories, illustrating the range of our members and the huge influence writing has on the lives of all in the UK.

We congratulate the members on the list:

  • Malorie Blackman (Books)
  • Stephen Fry (New Media)
  • Hilary Mantel (Books)
  • Ian McEwan (Books)
  • Kate Mosse (Books)
  • Robert Peston (Finance)
