Author of novels for young adults.  Represented by Carolyn Whitaker of London Independent Books.

My debut novel, 'A Brighter Fear' (HarperCollins, June 2012), is about a teenage girl growing up in Baghdad when the war breaks out in 2003 and was inspired by my own desire to understand the situation and by the courage people show in the worst of situations.

My second novel, 'A Dream of Lights' (HarperCollins, February 2013), is set in modern day North Korea, and follows a teenage girl's journey as she comes to terms with the truth about her country and realises what she must do to survive.
