Ian lives in Nottingham. His writing career first got off the blocks with a three year stint as a freelance journalist. After graduating with an MA in Creative Writing (Distinction), Ian wrote a children's history which became a local best seller.

Today Ian writes the acclaimed 'Zeke Hailey' sci-fi series for younger adults. These follow the adventures of a teenager on Mars, searching for his father, battling a transdimensional demon and trying to keep up with his exams.

Ian writes short stories for online and print magazines and continues to write for the press. Alongside this, Ian is a literacy ambassador and regularly visits schools. His popular creative writing workshops focus on fantasy and SF.
