Maria Donovan is a native of Dorset. She has lived in Holland, where she trained as a nurse, travelled widely in Europe as a performer with fire and music, and felt at home in Cymru (Wales), where she studied English and became a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Glamorgan.
Publications include Tea for Mr Dead , flash fiction (Leaf, 2006) and Pumping Up Napoleon, short stories (Seren, 2007)
Her debut novel, The Chicken Soup Murder (Seren, 2017), was a finalist for the Dundee International Book Prize.
