An award-winning author of children's fiction. Heather is probably best known for her book The Girl with the Broken Wing, which was one of Richard and Judy's Best Children's Books Ever. Her work has been translated into various languages, broadcast on Radio 4 and is studied in schools at Key Stage 2. Her latest title is The Flying Bedroom.
Heather teaches courses in novel writing, writing creative non-fiction, writing for children, developing creativity, and academic writing. She also offers school visits, workshops, and performs at literary festivals.
