The transition often feels tricky\, and always deserves attention and care. \nIn this in-person workshop\, hosted by SoA member and writer Emily Troscianko\, we’ll explore ways of crossing the threshold into writing—approaches suited to waking up and getting going in the morning\, but also useful at other times of day and when facing procrastination\, perfectionism\, uncertainty\, distraction\, interruption\, or dread at any point in a project. \nThe session is suitable for writers at any stage and across genres. You’ll test out mini rituals that may support focus\, energy\, and other ingredients crucial to writing\, before designing personal versions that fit your own writing life and projects—and your own instincts about what types of ritual are truly valuable.
