Whether you’re about to sign one\, preparing for future negotiations or just looking to build your knowledge of the business side of writing. Join the SoA’s Sarah Burton for this session offering practical guidance on: \n\nUnderstanding copyright and permissions\nProtecting your moral rights\nThe essentials of publishing contracts\nAvoiding common contractual pitfalls\nNegotiating with confidence\n\nThere will be a Q&A afterwards so if you have a burning question about contracts either trad or Indie now is your chance. \nAbout Sarah\nSarah Burton is Deputy Chief Executive at the SoA and she leads the advisory service\, which provides members with unlimited professional advice. Working closely with the team\, Sarah supports authors by offering expert guidance on all aspects of the business of writing. As a coordinator of the Children’s Writers and Illustrators Group\, a special interest group within the SoA\, she has a particular interest in industry issues affecting creators of children’s books. \nWe will meet at The Lord Palmerston\, 33 Dartmouth Park Hill\, London NW5 1HU. \nImportant Note: \nThe Lord Palmerston now has a new owner and as a consequence we no longer have our 10% food discount.
