SUMMARY:Surrey Group: Talk with Beth Appleby
DESCRIPTION:Join the Surrey Group on Tuesday 13 October from 12:00 for our next meeting for a talk with local member Beth Appleby. \nBeth will be sharing with us the story behind her book Carrying Hope: expecting death\, delivering life and how she came to write it. After receiving devastating news during her third pregnancy\, the journey to birth held many twists and turns\, surprises\, encouragement and dark times.  \nTRIGGER WARNING: Please be aware there will be content about baby loss and stillbirth.  \nUltimately ending with a story the medical world had never deemed possible\, Beth felt compelled to chronicle her story to give hope to other families. She will share the challenges of writing a memoir of recent events\, the decision to publish under a pseudonym\, her experience of being published by a hybrid publisher and the impact of the book to date. \nWe will meet at The Seahorse\, 52-54 The Street\, Shalford\, Guildford\, GU4 8BU. All writerly and bookish guests welcome. \nTo attend the meeting\, click the Going button below and fill out the RSVP form. If you do not receive a confirmation email\, or have trouble signing up\, please contact localgroups@societyofauthors.org. \nPlease email member-volunteer Howard Matthews with any questions.
