Who are we?
Professional Writing Academy has been designing and delivering world-class online writing courses since 2009. As pioneers in digital education, they created the world’s first fully online Master’s in writing and built a dedicated learning platform designed specifically for writers.
PWA believes writing has the power to transform lives. Their mission is to make that power accessible to more people by offering university-quality education to anyone, anywhere, regardless of background or experience.
Collaboration is at the heart of every course. Writers learn by doing in small, active tutor groups, gaining feedback from industry experts and support from a vibrant, global peer network. From early creative steps to publication, crime fiction to memoir, advanced novel structure to therapeutic writing, PWA supports every stage of a writer’s journey.

Comprises monthly intensive workshops and group mentoring sessions with camaraderie and deadlines to keep you productive. Taught by prize-winning novelists.
Write and Submit a Short Story – with Susmita Bhattacharya
Seven weeks to craft and finesse a story to submit to journals and competitions. Learn from prize-winning short story writers, editors, agents and competition judges. For those putting together collections or taking a break from the novel.
To make this accessible, PWA are offering members an exclusive discount code: SOA10, which provides 10% off at checkout. This can be used after the early bird pricing ends, making it especially valuable for those who miss the initial sale window. The code works on full-price purchases, down-payments or longer, interest-free payment plans, but cannot be combined with other discounts.
"Our vision was to create an accessible place online where writers could come to learn regardless of their background, level of experience, learning style and location — at a time of the day or night that suited them."
