SUMMARY:Tufnell Park Writers: Talk with Jonathan Pollock
DESCRIPTION:Join the Tufnell Park Writers on Wednesday 4 November from 19:00 to hear from neurosurgeon and author Jonathan Pollock. \nJonathan will be talking to us about his book A Short History of Neurosurgery in the UK and Ireland: Influences\, Founders and Units and his publishing experiences so far. Be prepared to be enthralled as he shares some personal anecdotes and fascinating insights into his world. \nPollock is a consultant Neurosurgeon at Essex Neurosciences Centre\, Queens Hospital with a focus on tumours of the brain and skull base and the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. He is also a joint Archivist at the Society of British Neurological Surgeons. He has presented and published widely on the history and development of neurosurgery. \nYou can purchase Jonathan’s book via this link. For on the night only he has managed to obtain discount copies for just £30 which is over half price!\nCash or phone transfer only. Please understand that Jonathan is a specialist with considerable expertise thus his book is medical academia which is reflected in the price. \nIf you can afford to and have any interest in the subject then please support him. I have been privy to some of his discoveries already and (excuse the pun but) they will blow your mind! \nWe will meet at The Lord Palmerston\, 33 Dartmouth Park Hill\, London NW5 1HU. \nImportant Note: \nThe Lord Palmerston now has a new owner and as a consequence we no longer have our 10% food discount. Please continue to support the pub as much as possible as we still get the room for free! \nTo attend the meeting\, click the Going button below and fill out the RSVP form. If you do not receive a confirmation email\, or have trouble signing up\, please contact localgroups@societyofauthors.org. \nPlease contact member-volunteer group organiser Jon-Jon Jones with any questions about the event.
