Grab a cuppa and get to know author and winner of the SoA’s 2024 ADCI Literary Prize, Lorraine Wilson. Lorraine will be in conversation with Penny Batchelor to discuss her work and career and to offer a glimpse into her creative routine.

As of Feb 2025, our #SoAatHome How I Write- in conversation events will be free for all but with a donation option when registering for the event. All donations made go towards the Society of Authors’ Access Fund. The fund is to help provide authors support for travel, subsistence, childcare or access needs for events, residencies, and retreats. If you would like to donate with your booking, please do so when registering for the event below.

A conservation scientist and third-culture Scot, Lorraine lives by the sea writing speculative fiction influenced by folklore and the wilderness. She is the multi-award winning author of several books, most recently the climate fiction novel, Mother Sea and Icelandic ghost story, The Last To Drown.

Penny Batchelor
Amazon-bestselling author Penny is the author of three psychological thrillers published by Embla Books: My Perfect Sister, Her New Best Friend and The Reunion Party. Her fourth will be published in May. Penny is a co-founder and judge of the ADCI Literary Prize for adult fiction by a disabled/chronically ill novelist; a disability campaigner; a columnist for The Bookseller; and she speaks regularly at literary festivals.
