Bath Group: Persephone Books

13 March @ 18:00 - 20:00 GMT

£5.00

Join the Bath Group on Thursday 13 March from 6pm for a talk from Nicola Beauman, founder of Persephone Books, on the history of the publishing house and 20th century books.

The shop is housed in Grade II Listed building, built in 1761. The basement, where the books are stored, is virtually unchanged since the 1760s: there is a beautiful original fireplace, a range, a bread oven, a Georgian dresser and all the York flagstones are intact. The first floor, the piano nobile, was a hairdressers for thirty years and is now the Persephone Bookshop, where Persephone host book groups, lunches, small concerts, informal film showings and seminars. This event is not to be missed!

Persephone Books is at 8 Edgar Buildings, George Street, Bath BA1 2EE.

To join us, please book your tickets before 9 March. Please email us with any queries.
