Sarah Banham, from For the Love of Books, hosts a quarterly meet-up for writers of all kinds and all genres. The group has been running for three years and Society of Authors members are warmly welcomed to the next Writers of Essex group meeting.
Format for this month's meeting:
12 - 1pm - catch up with fellow authors, network and meet new people
1 - 1.30pm - Author Mike Duffy will talk about marketing channels via social media, the concept of market separation and how to access and use Amazon and iBooks.
1.30 - 2pm - Author and group organiser Sarah Banham will talk about opinion blogs: what use are they, can you make money from them, how do they differ from regular blogs, using emotive topics, and how frequently you should post them.
2 - 3pm - Opportunity to talk 1-2-1 with speakers and organiser Sarah about future speaking slots, and chance to sit and write if desired.
There will be a table for you to display promotional material and flyers, though please remember to take these away with you at the end of the session.
The meet-up is an informal space for writers to discuss the highs and lows of our craft. It is also hoped that friendships will be formed and possibly even new projects will be borne from these meetings.
We'll meet upstairs in the café area at Colchester Library and Community Hub which is accessible via lift, stairs and escalators. The café itself is closed so do feel free to bring a drink and cold snacks.
Please email Sarah to let her know you will be coming along.
Can't make it?
If you can't make this meeting, come along to our next get-together on 6 June 2020.
