Please join us for the South West Writers Spring lunch on Thursday 5 March at 12.30pm. We'll meet at the White Hart Hotel in Salisbury for a drink before lunch is served at 1pm. New group members are welcome.
Lunch will be followed with a talk from Kate Wilson who has run the Bridport Prize since 2014. This important prize for writers was founded in 1973 and has grown to become one of the best-known open writing competitions in the country. There are four competition stands – poetry, short stories, flash fiction (micro stories of 250 words maximum) and the Peggy Chapman-Andrews first novel award, named in honour of the founder – and the Prize attracts entries from across the globe. It is known as an important literary stepping-stone for writers. This year the deadline for entries is 31 May.
The two-course lunch, followed by coffee and chocolates, costs £24 for members/£25 for guest non-SoA members.
The hotel is a short walk from the train station and a park and ride service from outside the city, though parking is also available at the hotel.
Please book in advance by completing this form and emailing to local organiser Judith no later than Monday 24 February.
